Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients and visitors warmly; provide assistance with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage appointment bookings, reschedule, and confirm appointments, ensuring optimal scheduling for healthcare providers.
- Patient Records: Maintain accurate patient records, including personal information, medical histories, and insurance details; ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Billing and Insurance: Verify insurance information, process payments, and assist patients with billing inquiries.
- Communication: Answer phone calls and respond to emails; relay messages between patients and medical staff.
- Administrative Support: Perform general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and maintaining organized office supplies and equipment.
- Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff to facilitate patient care and improve clinic operations.
- Emergency Procedures: Understand and follow emergency procedures; assist in coordinating patient care during emergencies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems is beneficial.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in managing patient information.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment with potential for high patient volume.
- May involve standing for extended periods and occasional overtime.
