The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in guest rooms, public areas, and facilities in a hospitality environment.  Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas.
  • Replace linens, towels, and amenities according to established standards.
  • Dust, vacuum, and mop floors in guest rooms and common areas.
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages to management promptly.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Follow safety and hygiene procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding linens.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to guests.

Tasks

  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
  • Dust furniture
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
  • Make beds and change sheets
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries
  • Stock linen closet
  • Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
  • Disinfect operating rooms and other areas
  • Clean and disinfect elevators
  • Handle and report lost and found items
  • Attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items
  • Provide basic information on facilities
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers
  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings
  • Clean changing rooms and showers
  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of cleaning staff
  • Co-ordinate work activities with other departments
  • Assist cleaners in performing duties
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
  • Recommend or arrange for additional services required such as painting, repair work, renovations or replacement of furnishings and equipment
