Key Responsibilities:
- Operate salt trucks and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust salt application rates as necessary.
- Spread salt or other de-icing materials on roads, parking lots, and walkways to ensure safe travel.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, reporting any maintenance or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of salt usage, road conditions, and weather changes.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate snow removal and de-icing efforts.
- Respond to changing weather conditions and adjust routes as needed.
Tasks
- Check, lubricate, refuel and clean equipment
- Operate various vehicles and equipment
- Report any malfunctions to supervisor

Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Previous experience operating heavy vehicles or trucks, preferably in a snow removal or road maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and winter driving techniques.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to assess road conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work long hours during adverse weather conditions, including nights and weekends.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily outdoors in cold and wintery conditions.
- Exposure to noise, weather elements, and potentially hazardous road conditions.
